In the first half of 2017, the expenses of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant for charity goals and the implementation of social programs amounted to over 670 million rubles. This is almost 14 percent more than a similar indicator of the previous year. The total costs of social activities in the group of PJSC MMK for six months of this year amounted to 1,032 million rubles.
Traditionally, MMK is traditionally significant for the charity and social support of pensioners and disabled people. For these purposes, in the first half of the current year, MMK sent over 150 million rubles. More than 158 million rubles were spent by the plant for the treatment of workers and the implementation of medical programs. Another important area of social investment is the recovery of workers and members of their families in the institutions of the sanatorium -resort sphere. For these purposes, 111.5 million rubles were spent on six months of 2017.
Among the key areas of social support of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant, you can also distinguish programs oriented towards the formation of the principles of a healthy lifestyle, as well as on the development of sports and the content of sports facilities (for 6 months, 50 million rubles were allocated for these purposes); conducting cultural events and the maintenance of cultural palaces (35 million rubles); implementation of programs for supporting motherhood and childhood, stimulating the birth rate, supporting large families (about 24 million rubles).
