To reduce the abrasion of parts and equipment used in the mining industry, Aperam South America in Brazil has released the new ENDUR design, which is a kind of high-strength and resistant stainless steel that allows for lighter and more flexible designs.

According to Aperam analyst and consultant Giulio Di Cunto, ENDUR can be used in railroad cars, processing and transportation equipment, iron ore washing, sieves and others in the mining industry, which provides competitive advantages such as increased productivity.

For example, wagons manufactured by ENDUR can last more than 40 years without maintenance, while carbon steel wagons last an average of 7 years, Di Cunto said.
