Worldsteel announced the list of applicants for the 10th Steelie Award. Prizes are awarded to individuals and member companies for their outstanding contributions to the global steel industry over the past year.
Companies nominated in the Excellence in Digital Communications category include MetinvestHolding LLC, POSCO, Tata Steel, Tenaris and Ternium. POSCO, Tata Steel Limited, Nippon Steel Corporation and Ternium have been shortlisted for Excellence in Communication Programs. The shortlist for the Excellence in Education and Training awards includes Gerdau SA, Tata Steel Europe, Tata Steel Limited, Tenaris, Ternium and TMK (PAO).
Final applicants for the Life Cycle Quality Assessment Award are: Baotou Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. , HYUNDAI Steel Company, Tata Steel Europe and Tata Steel Limited. The Excellence in Sustainability nomination winner will be selected from ArcelorMittal, BlueScope Steel Limited, JSW Steel Limited and Tata Steel Limited. The shortlist for the Innovation of the Year Award includes Ansteel Group Corporation Limited, China Steel Corporation (CSC), HBIS Group Co., Ltd. and POSCO.
Candidates for the Journalist of the Year Award are Hongmei Lee from MySteel Global, Elena Mazneva from Bloomberg, Paul Lim and Maria Tanatar from Fastmarkets.
Winners of the 10th Prize will be announced on October 14th at the 2019 annual General Assembly Dinner in Monterrey, Mexico.
