WTO allows China to introduce tariff on American metal products

This was China's first victory since the United States launched a trade war last year.

According to the final decision of the World Trade Organization (WTO), China was allowed to impose tariffs on American steel and other goods in the amount of almost $ 3.6 billion, citing Washington's non-compliance with anti-dumping rules for Chinese goods.

This was China's first victory since the United States launched a trade war last year.

The final decision affected about 25 Chinese goods, including diamond saws, furniture, solar panels and steel products. This decision meant that China could impose tariffs on the United States that exceed the current WTO quota, and could also decide which products and industries are subject to tariffs.

It is worth noting that the WTO decision came at a time when the two largest economies were trying to reach an agreement on trade in the first stage.
