The world's best steel producers in September 2019

These countries accounted for almost 99% of total global steel production.

The volume of crude steel production by the countries of the world represented by the World Steel Association (worldsteel) has grown significantly during the nine months of this year. Cumulative data on steel production show that the output of 64 countries that submitted these associations increased by almost 3.9% compared to the previous year. These countries accounted for almost 99% of total global steel production in 2018.

The global steel production in January-September of this year amounted to 1.391 billion tons, compared with 1.399 billion tons in January-September 2018. China has become a global steel producer with a production volume of 747.824 million tons. The country accounted for almost 54% of global steel production.

World steel production in September 1919 amounted to 151.499 million tons (tons), compared with 151.898 million tons in the same month a year earlier.
