State Minister for Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste called on the stainless steel industry to increase production and make India a global manufacturing center in the coming years. Minister Kulaste, opening the 30th anniversary conference of the Indian Association for the Development of Stainless Steel, said that “currently, with a total production of 3.74 million tons of stainless steel in 2018-1919, India is the second largest producer of stainless steel. China is currently the world's largest producer of stainless steel. Per capita stainless steel consumption in India has reached 2.5 kg. In 2010, steel consumption per capita was 1.2 kg. ”

Kulaste added that “India’s stainless steel demand growth rate is 6-7 percent CAGR, which is also one of the highest rates in the world, as stainless steel demand is directly linked to economic growth. Stainless steel not only has a low life cycle cost, but also improves the overall quality of life. ”
