The executive director of the Thyssenkrupp steel division will leave at the end of the month, according to sources close to the group’s supervisory board.
Premal Desai has been heading the division since June 2019. Most likely, he will be replaced by Bernhard Osburg, currently the chief commercial officer of the unit. Thyssenkrupp (Thyssenggroup) declined to comment.
The company, whose attempt to combine its steel division with the European division of Tata Steel was thwarted by regulators last year, outlined plans to turn the business into the largest profit engine.
