British Steel introduced a new high-strength structural steel grade, S460M, which has been developed for profile production and is used in high-rise and high-rise buildings as well as industrial and commercial applications.
The S460M was developed by the company's metallurgy specialists and was the first product released after the Jingye Group acquired British Steel.
The S460M was introduced earlier this year. It is produced at the company's steel mill in Scunthorpe and rolled into structural sections at the Teesside Beam Mill, which creates 40 jobs.
This high strength steel will bring many benefits to the company, such as lower costs, lower carbon emissions, lower carbon content.
