Liberty Group begins construction of a flagship engineering complex

The facility will become the center of the UK in research and development as well as engineering knowledge.

Liberty Engineering Group, part of UK-based GFG Alliance, announced that it has broken grounds on the new advanced engineering facility in Leamington Spa, central England.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the 50,000 square foot Global Technology Centre was held on March 25, 2019, which was attended among others by Douglas Dawson, Chief Executive of Liberty Industries Group; Anthony Blackwell, Chief Technology Officer of Liberty Engineering; Matt Western, MP for Warwick & Leamington and Ed Peel, Development Manager at Stoford Developments. The centre is touted to emerge as the UK hub for the company’s research and development and engineering expertise.

The facility is being constructed at an investment of nearly £10m. The facility will employ more than 100 highly-skilled technical professionals. The investment is expected to create 40 new engineering posts. The facility, located off Tachbrook Road, is expected to open early next year, said the company press statement. Benniman Construction Group has been appointed as the lead contractors for the development of the facility.

Sanjeev Gupta, Executive Chairman, Liberty House Group stated that the flagship facility will put the company at the heart of automotive industry’s evolution, by delivering cutting-edge innovations. Meantime, Anthony Blackwell, Chief Technology Officer for Liberty Engineering noted that the facility will play a pivotal role in the next generation of vehicles through development of innovative solutions for the future of mobility.
