China strikes back, delaying Indian parties in ports

Deterioration of Sino-Indian relations after clash of armed forces of both countries at the border earlier this month

Indian customs officers begin physical inspection of all Chinese imports

The Federation of Indian Export Organizations informed the Government of India that Indian parties have been detained by customs authorities in Chinese ports in retaliation. He pointed out that the customs authorities in the ports of India ordered the inspection of Chinese parties without any official notice from the government, which led to a response by the government in China. The FIEO said: "Although the Government of India has stated that there are no official communications, the inspection of consignments from China leads to an increase in imports, and in response, Indian exporters complained that customs authorities in China's ports are holding up export consignments."

He added: “We were given to understand that customs physically inspects all imports from China, which delays customs clearance, increasing the cost of imports. "We found that in the ports of Chennai and Mumbai, Indian customs open and inspect all containers in China, although there are no written instructions or circulars from CBIC about this."

An unofficial inspection of parties from China in Indian ports occurs after the deterioration of Sino-Indian relations after a clash between the armed forces of both countries at the border earlier this month, resulting in casualties for both sides.
