Production became the countries of the world that presented the report of the World Steel Association (worldsteel), grew in July this year. Monthly production data indicate that the output of 64 countries that submitted data to the association grew by 1.7% compared to the previous year. It should be noted that the above countries accounted for almost 99% of the total global crude steel production in the previous year.
World steel production in July of this year amounted to 156.697 million tons, compared with the production volume of 154.009 million tons in July 2018.
China continues to be the world leader in the production of crude steel with a production volume of 85.223 million tons. The country accounted for more than 54% of global steel production.
The total production of crude steel from January to July this year amounted to 1,083.951 million tons. This is 4.6% higher compared with production of 1,036.610 million tons during the corresponding seven-month period in 2018.
