The World Bureau of Metal Statistics announced that between January and July 2019, the nickel market was in short supply, while visible demand exceeded production by 78.7 thousand tons. In general, for 2018, the estimated deficit amounted to 95.7 thousand tons. The reported reserves at LME at the end of July 2019 were 62.7 thousand tons lower than at the end of last year. The processing volume in January-July 2019 amounted to 1,308.5 thousand tons, and demand amounted to 1387.1 thousand tons.

Mining in the period from January to July amounted to 1,419.1 thousand tons, which is 93 thousand tons higher than the same indicator in 2018. Compared with 2018, the volume of production at the Chinese metallurgical plant increased by 67 thousand tons, and visible demand was 120 thousand tons higher than in the previous year.

World apparent demand was 56 thousand tons higher than the previous year. In the calculation of consumption, no changes in stocks were reported in July 2019. The production of the nickel / nickel processing plant amounted to 214.1 thousand tons, and consumption - 230 thousand tons.
