Chilean lithium producer Sociedad Quimica & Minera de Chile SA (SQM), the world's second-largest, increased net profit 7.5 times in the second quarter thanks to higher prices and sales volume.
$0.31 per share in the same period last year.
Revenue rose 2.4 times to $2.47 billion.
Analysts on average had forecast earnings at $553.9 million on revenue of $2.29 billion, according to LSEG.
Sales volume 8.4%. which is 59% higher than a year earlier.
SQM share prices rose 0.5% at the end of trading on Tuesday.
