Steel production in China in January-February fell by 3.6% year-on-year to 160.34 million tons, according to the country's State Statistics Office.
Pig iron production fell by 2.7% to 137.7 million tons.
Steel production fell by 1.1% to 221.2 million tons.
Steel exports in two months decreased by 8.1% and amounted to 15.59 million tons, and imports decreased by 21.7% to 827 thousand tons.
At the end of 2025, steel production in China decreased by 4.4% to 960.81 million tons, which was the minimum volume in seven years.
